The Good, The Bad, and The Badder
    1 pathogens detected
    The Good:
-I found out that the people who work where I work out don't really care if I come in without a current i.d. card. Yay! Now I don't have to pay $250 in startup costs just to work out!
-As a result, I have worked out 3x in the past week. I would have gone again today, but I decided I needed a day off.
-Matt is learning a piece on guitar that is so beautiful it makes me want to do inappropriate things...
-I have now slept at least 6 hours, 2 nights in a row. I am 100% sure this is due to the Prayer Warriors that I call my Bible study.

    The Bad
-I got rejected from WSU. This is the only school where I could have recieved in state tuition, so now vet school will cost $30,000 a year.
-Before said sleep, I had gone 8 nights without sleeping. Now I feel sick. Coincidence? I think not.

    The Badder
-For the past 7 years, my grandparents have assured me they would pay for my vet school. At pretty much every junction in my life, that assurance has been repeated. Well, I called my nana to tell her the aforementioned news about admissions costs, and she seemed nonplussed by that information. However, when I called my grandfather, he basically said I must have been lying about how well I was doing in school, otherwise I would have gotten into WSU. He then said several more ugly things to me, including the opinion that the other schools were way to expensive and there was no way he was going to help me pay for it.

So, if anyone has a spare $240,000 (tuition plus living expenses for four years) laying around, let me know!

    Ah, Snack
    6 pathogens detected
So the Bible study I go to on Monday night delegates someone every week to do snack. By delegates, I mean that someone volunteers. This week, we have two volunteers, and I am one of them.

First, I had grand plans of using my new KITCHENAID ARTISAN STAND MIXER IN EMPIRE RED to make honey-bran muffins. However, I went to the store and found out that the Safeway near our house doesn't sell wheat bran! What?!??!?

So then I decided to make some Chex mix (sadly, without using the KASMiER). Then, while walking through the store, I realized why people just buy the pre-made stuff now. Those ingredients are danged expensive! Pretzels-3 bucks! Bagel chips- 3 bucks! Mixed nuts- 4 bucks! Chex- 5 dollars a box!

Anyway, I bought about 1/2 the ingredients, and decided I could jimmy it together. Turns out, I could! Ah, the wonders of habanero hot sauce and garlic powder. It worked out so well, in fact, that Matt and I accidentally ate 1/2 of it while playing several rounds of Milles-Bornes.

So, I decided to make some Muddy Buddies instead. Ah, that shining bastion of pre-menstrual comfort foods. They turned out well, except I learned 2 things:
    1. Muddy Buddies really are easier to make with someone helping you, and
    2. They are more difficult to make when one hand is holding a cell phone and you are trying to act as your mom's tech support at the same time. My wedding ring never looked so chocolately!

So, tonight's snack is 1/2 bag of spicy chex snacky mix and 1 bag of very muddy buddies. That was way harder than it should have been.

Why do I sometimes feel like Anne Glamore?

Matt and I played Scrabble while drinking (around the equivalent of three shots for each of us). The result? We each won one game, him with a score of 320 and me with a score of 328. Sweet!!!

So, yeah. Maybe I haven't existed on Blogger lately. I've been busy, alright? First I was in L.A. (blech and double blech, except for horseback riding and seeing my sister, and Kayla) for two weeks. Then we got back here, and had houseguests for the past week! A.J. and Rachelle came to Spokevegas to visit us, much to my delight. They really are the Coolest Freaking People in the universe. Some highlights:
-Playing a billion games of Scrabble, Upwords, Fluxx, and one memorable game of Clue
    -Hanging out at Riverfront Park
-Going to visit Dr. Mike and Teri at the farm
-Watching *Guess Who's Coming to Dinner* and marveling at Sidney Poitier's hotness
-Eating Tomato Street, Thai Bamboo, Europa, Dick's, Clayton Burger, and Twigs, and making baked goods
-Spending time with two wonderful people that I am blessed to call friends. I even call one of them family! Hopefully, both of them will one day share that title... ahem. sorry. stepping off the yenta podium.

Yay! I also went back to the clinic, which is good. In addition, I have been giving myself ulcers about vet schools. Here's the breakdown:

There, are you happy? I just realized that the cake I was baking had accidentally been set at 400 instead of 350. Dang it! Burnt cake!
