    Something weird is happening to my blog. When I click on any link to it from my computer (whether on my bookmarks tab, or from another person's blog, or type it into the toolbar), it redirects me to my dashboard (start page for editing my blog). When I sign out of blogger and try again, it just takes me to the blogger.com home page. Any ideas?

    April is National Poetry Month! In honor if the dignity of the occasion, I will not shatter your screen with my own pathetic verse, but will instead bestow upon you the gift that is John Donne:

    Holy Sonnet 14

    Batter my heart, three-person'd God, for you
    As yet but knock, breathe, shine, and seek to mend;
    That I may rise and stand, o'erthrow me, and bend
    Your force to break, blow, burn, and make me new.
    I, like an usurp'd town to'another due,
    Labor to'admit you, but oh, to no end;
    Reason, your viceroy in me, me should defend,
    But is captiv'd, and proves weak or untrue.
    Yet dearly'I love you, and would be lov'd fain,
    But am betroth'd unto your enemy;
    Divorce me,'untie or break that knot again,
    Take me to you, imprison me, for I,
    Except you'enthrall me, never shall be free,
    Nor ever chaste, except you ravish me.

    from Good Friday 1613: Riding Westward
    Could I behold those hands, which span the poles
    And tune all spheres at once, pierced with those holes ?
    Could I behold that endless height, which is
    Zenith to us and our antipodes,
    Humbled below us ? or that blood, which is
    The seat of all our soul's, if not of His,
    Made dirt of dust, or that flesh which was worn
    By God for His apparel, ragg'd and torn ?
    If on these things I durst not look, durst I
    On His distressed Mother cast mine eye,
    Who was God's partner here, and furnish'd thus
    Half of that sacrifice which ransom'd us ?
    Though these things as I ride be from mine eye,
    They're present yet unto my memory,
    For that looks towards them ; and Thou look'st towards me,
    O Saviour, as Thou hang'st upon the tree.
    I turn my back to thee but to receive
    Corrections till Thy mercies bid Thee leave.
    O think me worth Thine anger, punish me,
    Burn off my rust, and my deformity ;
    Restore Thine image, so much, by Thy grace,
    That Thou mayst know me, and I'll turn my face.

    Enjoy, and be edified.
    p.s. he also has much more scandalous poetry from before he became a pastor. ;)

    This has been a pretty good week.

    Last friday, Jasmine (Jazzy)and Jocelyn (Jo or Jose) took little ol' me to the movies! We went and saw Beauty Shop, which was highly entertaining. We also saw Dr. K. there, going to see Sin City, which was highly scandalous.

    Saturday, I rode Small Miracle, who was a good girl. Then, Lacey and I went to Borders, ostensibly for the purposes of homework, but the homework to talking about life ratio was significantly less than 1.

    Sunday, We churched, then I actually got serious about homework. Matt and I also had a date, a rare treat, in which we watched "I heart Huckabees". That movie was awesome. Awesome.

    Moday was a vet call to Far West, where we vaccinated everything under the sun and cut an alarming tumor off a horse's jaw.

    Tuesday, I went out to ride the mare again, but she was feeling crappy from aforementioned vaccination, so I left her alone.

    Wednesday, Matt and Lacey and I went to WSU (Wazzu) to use their several extensive libraries for a variety of research papers that are on the horizon. We ate dinner at the Cougar Country Drive-In, a tasty and inexpensive establishment. And I got to talk with Drew, always a pleasure.

    And today, I went out to ride again, but the storm drove in at the same time as me, and poor S.M. was so scared, she was shaking! I decided riding was a bad option.

    So now, I am eating artichokes, doing a little homeowork, hanging out, maybe reading, and taking a bath! Not a bad life. Oh, and we are studying something fun in physics (yay, relativity!), another rare treat.

    Hey, new drink recipes:

    The Chocolate Blanket (this is from February):
    6 oz dark, sweet hot chocolate made with whole milk and/or half/half
    1.5 oz Bailey's Irish Cream
    1.5 oz Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
    dash pure vanilla extract
    pour into warmed mug and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg

    White Trash Lemon Drop (This was today)
    8 oz very strong, very tart, sweet lemonade (preferably homemade)
    2-4 oz Skyy Citrus Vodka
    ice
    pour into chilled tall glass and place 1marachino cherry on top.

    Enjoy!
