On Monday, I finally went to see a doctor about some back pain I had been experiencing. He took X-rays, told me I had a bulging disc in my back, and gave me a back brace and some muscle relaxants and anti-inflammatories. He also said that I needed to stop working at the large animal clinic for 3-4 weeks while my back healed, so I started looking for work at a small animal clinic. On Wednesday, the back pain was even worse, so I went back in. The doctor said, "Oops! Looks like, in addition to he disc, you also have a problem with your SI joint on the right side that was made worse by the back brace! Sorry about the poor diagnosis!" He then gave me some LorTab (aka Vicodin)and told me to go see a chiropractor. Well, I was in the pharmacy getting the Lortab when my mom called. As it turned out, I had forgotten to tell her about all of the back excitement, and she was UNHAPPY, if you catch my drift. So she started freaking out about all the bad things that can happen when you go to a chiropractor you don't know, and blahblahblah, and as it turns out, she basically ordered me to go back to L.A. I am driving down on Monday with Matt and my dad.
Boo, I say. Boo.
While it will be nice to be down in L.A. with Matthew and my family and friends, I was really enjoying life up here. What better day can one have than working at a vet clinic, driving home, sitting in the sunshine reading, then going for a long ride on a good horse? Also, I will certainly miss Lacey and the Sardinias this summer, and the relaxed attitude that is so prevalent in Clayton and so absent in L.A.
L.A. folk, I will see you on Wednesday or Thursday. Everyone else, I will see you either at the wedding or back up at school in the fall!

I am living on a farm in Clayton this summer with faulty electricity, questionable running water, and no shower. This means NO INTERNET!!!! I think I'm supposed to be upset, but somehow, it just doesn't bother me all that much.
Anyway, this means that I will not be updating the ol' blog very often, and nor will I be very accessible by email. If you want to get a hold of me to find out what's up, call my cell phone (surprisingly good reception in Clayton!).
I should be back in L.A. by mid July, by the way.
